About Us

We are happy to welcome you to the Web site of Cardiovascular Associates of East Texas. While our main clinical facility and office is in Tyler, we have an additional full-time office in Athens. Members of our team are also seeing patients in Jacksonville and Canton. Our mission and commitment to our patients is to continually maintain knowledge and expertise in the application of the latest techniques and equipment to insure that you receive the highest quality of cardiovascular care possible.

Our physicians are all Board certified in both Internal Medicine and Cardiovascular Disease, with some staff physicians also having specialty certifications in Nuclear Medicine, Electrophysiology, Cardiac Intervention and Cardiac Sports Medicine. Key members of our support staff include certified or licensed Physician Assistants, Echocardiographers, Nuclear Radiologic Technologists, as well as RNs and LVNs.

To fullfill our mission to our patients, we have equipped our offices with the latest state-of-the art diagnostic equipment available for use in the rapid and accurate diagnosis of heart and circulatory problems. By participating in many national and international research studies designed to develop effective new drugs, equipment, and techniques used in the fight against cardiovascular diseases, we continue to bring the most comprehensive care and treatment to our patients.

Included in our office arsenal of specialized cardiovascular diagnostic tools are:

• Electrocardiograms • Pacemaker Monitoring
• Exercise/treadmill Stress Testing • Event Monitoring
• Non-exercise Stress Testing • Peripheral Vascular Function Testing
• Nuclear Stress Testing • Clinical Laboratory Tests
• Echocardiograms • Cholesterol Measurement/Management

Cardiologists are not cardiac surgeons, meaning that we do not perform surgical procedures on the heart itself. We perform all diagnostic and interventional procedures involving the heart such as cardiac catheterizations and stent insertion procedures on vessels. These procedures are also known as invasive or interventional respectively. Members of our team are trained in electrophysiology which is the implanting and monitoring of pacemakers and intracardiac defibrillators.

Our Web site is designed to introduce ourselves to you and to answer some of the more common questions which usually arise when visiting a physician's office.

It is important for you as a patient to develop confidence and a level of comfort in the physician entrusted with your care. Though we accept patients on a referral basis only from another physician, we welcome the opportunity for you to visit with us and our staff. If you have questions or comments, please contact us.
